Hey Chris
It is about time you got here. Have you been practicing your dog whispering?

I can't wait for another fun day to come around!
A good long day of dock jumping, agility, dogs having TONS of fun, good food, and friends that are more like family!

Dak would have to learn he only gets the ball AFTER he does the course....I don't know if he'd go for that...
You should take some lessons and see if he would like it! Fox and Jack certainly do- although Jack, thinks the fact that he has to use his brain sucks. He also says I'm too slow, as he runs around the course doing whatever obstacles he fancies Gotta love a young dog!

Re: Welcome Canine Ranch
have to leave the ball out of the ring in a competiton...no toys allowed on course! Thankfully, when you are first learning, you can bring toys out...then you get to figure out how to wean it away
It was very helpful when I first was training Jack, in agility, to bring a toy out- hide it in a pocket. It was his reward that I took it out and threw it for him after he finished the exercise.
I think it would be hard to keep a ball in hand while trying to direct a dog through obstacles....a very ball driven dog, would not focus on the obstacles but only on the ball...

Re: Welcome Canine Ranch
I think they just need to have a course that has a ball on a string pulled through the obstacles. Then ball driven dogs like Cerberus and Dak would have a blast.
