Frisbee at the Canine Ranch
I am headed to the Canine Ranch Saturday (12 to 3) for a Frisbee clinic Chris is having up there. Anyone else interested?? The cost is $15.
I'm also going to get some of the Discs (I don' tknow if they are actually made by Frisbee) they use in events if anyone else is interested I will pick up a few extras ($3/ea).
This will be a good thing for us during the cold weather when I don't want to get wet !!

Dumb question. Will she teach us to throw? I would be interested in trying it out I think. How many disc do we need?

Would be nice to learn how to throw, I think I might ask Kris about it, and I know Sirius would probably enjoy a day all to himself....since Jack's out of commission for a little while.

Re: Frisbee at the Canine Ranch
It is my understanding it is mostly about learning to throw !! They will also have discs there they will be selling for $3 each (i'm going to get a few for our crew). I want to learn how they do this in competition since we already practice this a couple of times a day with Molly and Rebel.
What's wrong with Jack??

Yup Marty you win the prize!!!! Here is Chris's answer
Yes, it's for beginner's! And yes, that's really what it's about. The very last part we'll teach a few tricks, but it's basically about how to throw the dern thing better, longer, faster, and more accurately so your dog has more fun catching it!!
Poor Dexie gets so frustrated cause I can't throw the dang thing!

Sounds like a good thing then, Kris just falls on the ground laughing when I try to throw a frisbee...it never goes where I want it to.
Is it just a people seminar or do we bring dogs too?

From Chris:
You bring dogs with (must bring crate too), because we spend about 1/2 of the time without dog, and 1/2 with. It's mostly throwing, with some trick stuff at the end...
I asked about Frisbees:
Yes, there are multiplte types and we'll discuss all at the event. 99% of people use a Fastback because it's easy to throw and a good weight. For heavy biters, there are other options that last longer, but not all of the clubs accept them in competition. In winter, we use a Fastback Flex because they're less brittle and can stand up to the cold without shattering like a Fastback will. We'll have Fastback available for sale for $3 each at the event. Not sure if we'll have the Flex or not - just depends on what's in the club's "closets"...
You can also order in bulk at www.discoveringtheworld.com. They sell misprints for cheap - the more you buy, the more you save, but unless you order $100 or more you won't be able to beat the $3 per price tag we sell ours for.
